After having lived through office Christmas Parties all through the go-go 1990’s in New York City where I saw a LOT of interesting stuff, I tell the young bucks in my present office in Boston, “The best thing that will happen to you at the Christmas party is NOTHING will happen to you at the Christmas party.” And it is the truth. My fave story is when the kid in the mail room walked into our office Christmas party which was at La Bar Bat in New York City. It was a huge entryway in which the president of our company was welcoming people to the party. The kid from the mail room called him a “rich douche bag” as loud as he could so everyone could hear. The president said, “I think that young man has had enough to drink. Escort him home.” Needless to say he was no longer employed by that company.
